With just one look at that bridal bouquet designed by Betty Flowers Santorini, I knew this Greek wedding was destined for the pages of Style Me Pretty. Of course, it’s no surprise when the bride just so happens to be the amazing wedding planner behind Tie The Knot In Santorini. She brought her tropical, boho-inspired day to life and didn’t overlook a single detail. Anna Roussos photographed, Mont Videography filmed, and I think it’s safe to say our Friday just got so much better.

From the wedding planner turned bride, Maria… I have designed many weddings, but designing and now describing my own wedding is something new and so exciting for me. Being a wedding planner turned bride was such fun and creative process and our wedding was truly the happiest day of our lives.

On a small Greek island called Anafi, not far from Santorini, we chose to have our destination wedding and exchange vows in front of our nearest & dearest, on the beach with the sand between our toes. A fun, relaxing, bohemian atmosphere was our vision for our wedding day. While designing the wedding, I tried to incorporate elements that both Nikos and myself love. Details that would make us feel comfy and express our personalities.

Nikos loves to surf. As a tribute to his passion for surfing, we designed with Weddings & Whimsy a surfboard shaped wedding arch! I love tropical and botanical elements and I am a sucker for palm prints and cacti plants. This is why our wedding ceremony was held under a big palm tree, our We Wear Young favor bags were made by tropical prints and the tablescape was full of cacti details!

Potted plants of ivy and fern hung from macramé creations and gorgeous peacock chairs were some of my favorite bohemian elements of the wedding styling. Our color palette was a combination of soft yellow, blush, powder blue and loads of greenery! You can imagine my excitement when a few months later “Greenery” was announced as the Pantone color of 2017.

I loved our wedding style, not only because it was created by my team, but also because it was brought to life on the day thanks to Santorini Glam Weddings & Santorini Bliss Weddings (my lovely wedding planner friends) and all my wonderful girlfriends who were decorating the venue before they put on their beautiful mismatched bridesmaids dresses. After hours of hard work setting up for the wedding, they were there to accompany me while I was getting ready. We were all one big family on that day (humans & dogs ☺), this is a feeling that I will never forget. As one big family, we all cried of happiness, laughed, danced like crazy and had the time of our lives!
